The Green Globe Index
Users of the Green Globe Index accept the following terms and conditions of use.
Users of the system are granted a licence to use the index for 365 days from the date of purchase or purchase renewal. The licence allows users to enter their data, receive a ranking, carbon emissions estimates, comparative analysis of their data, listing on the full list of index participants subject to minimum ranking criteria (see below)and use of the Green Globe Index logo in their communications. Payment for the grant of licence will be as shown in the prevailing Green Globe Index tariff published by Green Globe International.
Users are expressly forbidden from using the content of the Green Globe Index questionnaire or its logo except as provided for in these terms and conditions and in the format provided online. Copying, reprinting or reproducing the questionnaire in part of whole in any format whether digital or print is not permitted, unless authorised in writing by Green Globe International.
Data supplied by users will be correct to the best of their knowledge. To enable Green Globe International to ensure the integrity and validity of the index, users agree to supply on request supporting materials to justify their entries. Users will be required to submit supporting materials on the basis of random selection and where Green Globe International identify significant variances from average scores for a given user type. Users who fail to provide supporting information as required will be removed from the index. Users who are found to have submitted invalid or incorrect data onto the index will be removed from the index and unable to rejoin it for a minimum period of two years.
Data submitted to the Green Globe Index by individual users will not be made publicly available, except where users expressly indicate that they wish to share their index ranking with selected user groups. No other individual user data other than the index ranking will be made available. Users acknowledge and agree to the use of aggregate index data by Green Globe International and its contracted partners to help inform initiatives and education programmes designed to increase achievement of sustainable operations by all companies in the travel and tourism sector.
The Green Globe Index and the Green Globe logo are the property of Green Globe International. Users of the index whose ranking qualifies them for entry on the public index may use the Green Globe Index logo in all communications relating to the index. They may not under any circumstances use the Green Globe logo, which is only available to companies who have completed a full certification process undertaken by Green Globe International.Users whose data submission delivers a ranking that is below the minimum requirement to be included in the index, accept that they may not use the Green Globe Index logo.
The Green Globe Index is delivered by Sustainability Intelligence Limited a UK registered company, who are contracted by Green Globe International to deliver the technology and professional support required to create and maintain the index. Users accept that information submitted to the Green Globe Index is available to Sustainability intelligence to support Green Globe objectives and drive increased sustainability in travel and tourism. Individual user data will not be shared with any third parties.
Refunds: No refunds will be given to users of Green Globe Index who fail to achieve a minimum ranking for inclusion on the index. All annual payments for use of the index are non refundable except in exceptional circumstances and at the discretion of Green Globe International.
Copyright: The logos, software and content of the Green Globe Index are the copyright of Green Globe International and its technical partner Sustainability Intelligence Limited and are protected by the copyright laws of the United Kingdom and international treaties. No rights of copyright are transferred to the user under the terms of the grant of licence for user access to the Green Globe Index except as expressly provided by these terms and conditions. Green Globe International will actively pursue any user or party that infringes its copyright and intellectual property.
Restrictions: The Green Globe Index content and associated software may not be used to support the creation of third party software and data products, except where expressly agreed in writing by Green Globe International. Data from the Green Globe Index may only be stored by users to support their own reporting and data management requirements and not for the purposes of creating software products.
Responsibilities: The Green Globe Index contains a range of data from third parties, which are used to support the calculations made by the Green Globe Index ranking and measurement system. Green Globe International neither owns, manages or controls any third party data on which the Green Globe Index relies. The source data used by the Green Globe Index and its technical suppliers have been handled with due care and attention to enable the delivery of carbon emissions estimates. Neither Green Globe International nor any third party whose data is accessible via the Green Globe Index warrant the use of the Green Globe Index results for any purpose, nor do they make any representations regarding their fitness for any use or purpose whatsoever. The Green Globe Index is designed to produce an informed and accurate approach to the ranking of sustainability performance and common disclosure of performance by users of the Green Globe Index. Users are at all times responsible for the accuracy of the data they supply to the Green Globe Index and for ensuring that data in the Green Globe Index is regularly processed to ensure that the most up to date rankings are retained on the Green Globe Index
Whilst Green Globe International uses its best endeavours to ensure the integrity of the data produced by the Green Globe Index, neither Green Globe International, its directors or employees shall be liable for any loss or claim that may arise from the use of the data supplied by the Green Globe Index. Use of the Green Globe Index and rankings and/or measurements received by users is at their sole and complete risk and users shall at all times be responsible for the use and deployment of Green Globe Index rankings and measurement, in a responsible manner that reflects the estimated nature of the rankings from the Green Globe Index. All users of the Green Globe Index, their employees, clients and other third parties who use the Green Globe Index, agree to indemnify Green Globe International and any of their partners and suppliers in the creation, management and delivery of the Green Globe Index, for any loss that may be suffered, arising out of any inaccuracies in numbers generated by the Green Globe Index or any misuse of data under the terms of this agreement. Under no circumstances shall Green Globe International or any of their suppliers and partners that helped create the Green Globe Index, be liable for any damages, including incidental, special or consequential damages, arising from the use of the Green Globe Index, reliance upon the Green Globe Index or an inability to access the Green Globe Index at any time.
Access & Support: It is accepted by the users that whilst Green Globe International has a duty of care to ensure access to the Green Globe Index within the terms of any individual commercial agreement, Green Globe International neither owns, manages or controls the servers which provide the Green Globe Index. Green Globe International and its partners and suppliers will undertake to rectify any disruption to service within the shortest possible time.
Withdrawal of Services: Green Globe International reserves the right to remove immediate access to the Green Globe Index where any user is found to be in contravention of its prevailing terms and conditions.
These terms and conditions form the contractual basis of the grant of licence between Green Globe International and individual users of the Green Globe Index.
