Can other companies see my data?
Your individual data cannot be seen by other companies on the Green Globe Index. Your data submission uses a scoring system to create your ranking in the Green Globe Index. Your ranking can only be seen by other user groups on the Green Globe Index who you expressly consent to share your ranking with.If you do not enable this disclosure, only the registered user is able to see their data and ranking using a secure password login.
How does the ranking work?
Each question that you answer shows the level of sustainability that your company has achieved and each answer and section have numeric values that contribute to your overall ranking score. A minimum level of achievement is required for your company to be shown by name on the main Green Globe Index.
What happens if my score is too low to be included on the Green Globe Index?

How often can I submit information?
You can submit information as often as you wish or are able. Your results summary will show you the degree to which you have completed each of the sections to help you identify areas which require more input.
How does my ranking compare to other companies?
The ranking results will show you how you compare to all other users in your country and all users in your specific sector both globally and nationally. This allows you to understand your relative performance.
Does entry on the Green Globe Index mean I am certified?
No, the Green Globe Index is a common disclosure and benchmarking platform designed to support sustainability engagement and achievement at a primary level. If you wish to be fully certified then this can be done through Green Globe International and is a comprehensive process that requires a significant commitment of time and cost. If you have achieved a ranking of over 80 in the Green Globe Index you may find that certification is a process that you could accomplish without undue difficulty. I am already part of a national accreditation scheme, why should I be on the Green Globe Index?
The Green Globe Index is the only internationally recognised programme that is available to all sizes of company in the travel and tourism industry. A Green Globe Index entry will enable you to benchmark your performance globally and nationally, providing your prospective and existing clients, suppliers and stakeholders with an internationally recognised index.
How does the Green Globe Index prevent false entries?
All users of the Green Globe Index agree to terms and conditions that allow Green Globe International and its appointed partners to request support documentation from Green Globe Index users. This information will be required from companies on a random basis. Users whose submissions are found to be incorrect will have an opportunity to correct them. Users who enter incorrect data more than once, will be removed from the Green Globe Index and be ineligible to rejoin it for a minimum period of two years.
How long does my ranking last?
Your ranking may be updated at any time during a 365 day period and will change with each submission and update you make. Past performance is not an indicator of future performance and users who do not renew their Green Globe Index licence within 3 months of the end of their licence period will be removed from the Green Globe Index. This is designed to ensure that the Green Globe Index remains based upon current performance and retains its value as a result.
Can my suppliers use the Green Globe Index?
The Green Globe Index is designed to be used by all types of company in the travel and tourism supply chain. To support supply chain disclosure each Green Globe Index user may receive licences for their suppliers at a preferential rate. Please see pricing and terms for full details on supplier licences.
How does the Green Globe Index measure carbon dioxide emissions?
The Green Globe Index converts your energy submissions into kilograms of carbon dioxide using the internationally recognised GHG Protocol. The value used is a global value to enable effective international indexing. If you would like more detailed and comprehensive carbon measurement for your company activities this can be provided by approved Green Globe partners.
